Position Description
The Social Content Lead will lead the development and execution of SHIFT’s social media and digital content, bringing SHIFT’s expertise, people, services, and brand to life through engaging, educational, and visually compelling storytelling.
Working closely with the sales and marketing team, this individual will identify compelling stories and educational opportunities and translate them into content that builds brand awareness, strengthens engagement, and supports overall business growth.
This is a highly hands-on role for a creative content marketer who enjoys both strategy and execution—from developing content concepts and writing copy to capturing and coordinating photo and video content, managing the social calendar, and repurposing ideas across platforms and formats.
We are seeking a highly organized, creative, and proactive individual with exceptional storytelling abilities, strong visual instincts, and a deep understanding of what makes digital content engaging. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with a variety of subject matter experts and stakeholders and can translate complex ideas into approachable, compelling content while maintaining a consistent and elevated brand presence.
This position is full-time and on-site at our River North location, with occasional travel to our Northbrook location.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy & Management
- Own and manage SHIFT’s social media presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms as appropriate
- Develop and maintain a social content calendar aligned with SHIFT’s brand, business priorities, clinical expertise, and key initiatives
- Develop, schedule, and publish social content that educates, engages, and strengthens brand awareness
- Identify relevant social trends, formats, topics, and creative opportunities and determine how they can be thoughtfully applied to the SHIFT brand
- Maintain a consistent and distinctive SHIFT voice and visual presence across social channels
- Coordinate digital community engagement and help foster meaningful interaction with SHIFT’s audience
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Develop original content concepts across video, photography, graphics, written posts, educational content, and other digital formats
- Write and edit compelling social copy while translating complex health and medical topics into clear, engaging, consumer-friendly content
- Partner with physicians and other clinical team members to identify relevant educational topics, stories, and content opportunities
- Develop concepts, talking points, interview questions, scripts, and other materials to support content creation with clinical experts and other team members
- Capture and/or coordinate photo and video content for social and digital use
- Repurpose long-form and existing content into compelling social-first formats
- Identify opportunities to tell stories about SHIFT's people, services, expertise, Members, and broader approach to health
- Utilize AI and other content tools to increase creative output and efficiency while maintaining quality and brand voice
Content Production & Brand Management
- Coordinate professional photography and videography projects, as needed
- Maintain and organize SHIFT's library of photography, video, graphics, and other content assets
- Ensure social and digital content consistently reflects SHIFT's visual identity, voice, and brand standards
- Collaborate with external creative partners and vendors, as needed
- Help identify opportunities to evolve SHIFT’s creative approach and visual storytelling while maintaining overall brand consistency
Additional Marketing & Brand Support
Social media management and digital content creation will be the primary focus of this role. As the Social Content Lead becomes established in the role and capacity allows, additional responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the development, editing, and publication of SHIFT Tips, newsletters, blogs, website articles, and other Member-facing communications
- Assist with updates to marketing collateral, presentations, brochures, and other digital and printed brand materials
- Contribute to Member stories, testimonials, and other brand-building content
- Supporting marketing needs related to events, partnerships, business development, and Member engagement as applicable
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, digital media, business, or a related field
Qualifications
- 2-3+ years of experience in content marketing, communications, brand marketing, digital marketing, social media management, healthcare marketing, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing social content across multiple platforms and formats
- Experience creating, capturing, and/or coordinating short-form video and other visual content
- Experience managing multiple communication channels and projects simultaneously
- Experience working with healthcare, wellness, lifestyle, or professional services organizations preferred
Desired Knowledge/Skills/Attributes
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities with strong attention to detail
- Strong understanding of social media strategy, platforms, trends, content formats, and audience engagement
- Strong creative and visual instincts with an appreciation for high-quality branding and design
- Ability to generate original content ideas and independently move them from concept through execution
- Comfortable collaborating directly with physicians, subject matter experts, leadership, and other team members to develop content
- Comfortable capturing photo and video content, with working knowledge of short-form video editing and content-production tools
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage a consistent content pipeline and multiple concurrent priorities
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret content performance and make data-informed recommendations
- Comfortable using social media management platforms, content creation and design tools, video editing software, and AI-assisted content tools
- Self-motivated, proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- Passion for preventive healthcare, longevity medicine, and helping educate others through evidence-based content
